WHAT TO EXPECT
I offer both short or long-term work & will regularly review our work together. You may wish to explore a specific issue in depth or work with your general experiences. I believe that a minimum of 6 sessions, once a week, would provide us with a base on which to build our relationship & provide you with the space to explore the issue at hand in depth. Alternatively you may find that as few as 2-3 sessions will be of benefit to you & your needs.
Once you have made contact, I will offer an initial consultation via your preferred medium, either telephone or online. This will provide you with the space to get an understanding of how I work, share the issue that has led you to contact me, explore if you feel comfortable working with me & decide if therapy could be of benefit to you at this present time.
If you decide to proceed with therapy, our sessions will focus on the issue that you choose to bring to our session. The purpose of our sessions is to help you gain an understanding of the thoughts, feelings, emotions & behaviours which have arisen. I will not give you advice or tell you what you should do, but I hope to provide a space & the support needed for you to explore your own understanding of your experience.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) & work within their ethical framework. I am committed to engaging with Continuing Professional Development.
