I am a Person-Centred Counsellor, I believe that you are the expert in your own experiences & feelings. I aim to provide you with an empathic, non-judgemental, open space to explore the issues which have led you to seek counselling.
I have experience of working with bereaved clients & people living with, or caring for a loved one, a life-limiting health condition such as Cancer, Parkinsons’ Disease or Dementia. I continue to volunteer at the day-hospice where I undertook my trainee placement.
Although my special interest is bereavement & the end-of-life, I also work with issues that can arise out of this such as low-self esteem, anxiety, low-mood, relationship issues, spirituality, questioning the purpose of life, feelings of anger, guilt, frustration & helplessness.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship we develop is at the heart of how we work together & you, as the client, are at the center of the work that we do. I will not tell you what you should, or shouldn't, do nor will I give you the answers but I aim to be at your side exploring your difficulties together.
I welcome a diverse range of clients & have worked with people of different backgrounds, ethnicities, beliefs, sexualities. I appreciate that we are individuals with a variety of life experiences & will approach our work together in a way which benefits & empowers you.
